What are The Meantime Chronicles?

The Meantime Chronicles, both volumes 1 & 2, are collections of illustrated short stories. Each volume was completed over the course of a single year in which artist and author Kyle Krauskopf, every week, wrote a new work of prose, and crafted an illustration to accompany it. Where volume 2 differs from volume 1 is in its incorporation of 65 other people from around the world.

Having successfully completed and self-published Volume 1, Krauskopf was itching to tackle the year long endeavor once more but felt it needed an added level of engagement. It was this thought process that led him to tapping his most valuable resource- the people in his life. Friends, family, artists, associates, cohorts, and folks he met along the way are all included in this new tome. Each week of 2024 Krauskopf called upon a different acquaintance for a prompt to launch the week’s story and drawing. The ideas came from voices aged 7- 77 spread across 5 different countries.

With the book now complete and printed, Krauskopf is setting off on a nationwide book tour, seeking to connect with as many collaborators and friends-yet-to-be as possible. The artist and author is taking 3 months (May 4- August 4) to visit 25 different states with book and art in tow, all the while living out of a tear drop trailer of his own design and construction.

As he has relied on art and community connectivity to see him through difficult chapters of his life, Krauskopf is conducting the tour in support of The National Alliance on Mental Illness, with 5% of each book sold going to the national chapter of NAMI, and 5% going to the closest local branch of each stop along the way.

Look for him to pop up in the most eclectic of spots including: schools, spin classes, animal hospitals, cocktail bars, exquisite homes, and of course art galleries and book stores.

Can I purchase an original work?

You sure can! Kyle is currently working to get all original works uploaded to the shop. In the meantime, there are a handful of originals available from volume one, which can be found here
