What are The Meantime Chronicles?
The Meantime Chronicles are a collection of short stories and illustrations by Kyle Krauskopf. Volume I was complete over the course of 2022, where Krauskopf created an original work of prose and corresponding illustration each week for the entire year. Volume II is similar in every way except this time Krauskopf is partnering with artists, long time friends, social media connections, and a plethora of other folks from all over the world! Each week a new collaborator prompts Krauskopf with their own writing idea and from there Krauskopf turns it into a short story complete with illustration.
Where can I read the stories?
You can find with all of the stories and art by following along here on instagram, or they’re available right here on this website!
What happens when the stories are completed?
Kyle is going to turn all fifty-two collaborative works into a book and take that book on tour to many of the participants cities across the United States and abroad!
Can I preorder a book?
Yes! There will be a limited edition first printing hardback and then paperback edition to follow- pre-orders can be found here, as well as the first volume of The Meantime Chronicles here
Can I purchase an original work?
You sure can if you’re willing to wait for an unspecified amount of time! Contact Kyle for more details. Kyle will be exhibiting all 52 custom framed works in various galleries throughout 2025. There are a handful of originals left from volume one still for purchase which can be found here
Are there prints of the works?

For Participants:
What do I need to participate?
All I need from you is a writing prompt and a photo. The prompt can be anything from one word up to one paragraph. For example all of The Dirk Marlowe stories were created because one friend challenged me to make a story about “bop.”
How do I participate beyond my story prompt?
Kyle has grand plans to create a book tour all across the United States and abroad in 2025! If you are participating in the project and would be able to secure a stop on the book tour let Kyle know! Be creative- think your favorite coffee shop, or if you guide peloton classes, let’s take a class and talk the book afterward. It’s going to be a grand adventure so let’s get planning!
